Most vehicles made in the past five years are equipped with the latest safety features and systems to protect their occupants. The most advanced of these systems are Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), which combine sensors, cameras, and technologies to guide drivers and reduce the risk of accidents. Collisions can misalign or break these ADAS systems, making your vehicle less safe to drive. A qualified auto body shop will always include ADAS calibration as part of its auto body repair services. Harry’s Auto Collision team is fully certified and qualified to calibrate your vehicle’s ADAS sensors after body repairs. We service all makes and models and can perform a complete battery of ADAS tests.

ADAS Calibration FAQs
Book Appointment
- Initial assessment. Our technicians inspect your vehicle from front to back to identify which of your vehicle’s ADAS components might need repairs, realignment, or replacement.
- Diagnostic scan. We check your vehicle’s onboard computer and systems with OBD-II or OEM scanners. We look for fault codes or signs of ADAS system calibration issues and establish a complete list before starting any work.
- Structural repairs. If your vehicle needs frame repairs, suspension service, bumper repairs or replacements, or a new windshield, we handle these repairs first. ADAS system calibrations require precision and will only be done once your vehicle has been repaired or returned to its factory-original performance.
- ADAS component alignment. Our ADAS calibration technicians will install, adjust, and align all components that need servicing. Examples include radars and sensors housed in the bumpers and grilles, windshield cameras, and blind spot sensors in the side mirrors. We also perform a four-wheel alignment before testing lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control.
- ADAS calibration. Once the ADAS components are properly installed and aligned, we proceed with the calibration processes. Calibration services fall into two categories: static and dynamic. Static tests, like car camera calibration or traffic sign recognition, can be done in-shop. Dynamic calibrations, depending on the manufacturer, require road testing at various speeds and in different conditions.
After we complete the recalibration process, we confirm the work is complete with a post-scan diagnostic and a final test drive. - Forward-facing ADAS camera calibrations. Recalibration of the cameras mounted to the windshield or the rear-view mirror, such as those used for traffic sign recognition, lane departure warnings, or automatic emergency braking.
- Radar sensor calibration. Realignment of the sensors used to support adaptive cruise control and collision avoidance systems. We verify they’re aimed correctly and can detect other vehicles and objects accurately.
Surround view calibration. Specific models like Rivian cars and trucks feature 360-degree surround-view cameras for parking assistance and blind spot visibility. We can calibrate and test the cameras to verify they are correctly aligned and leveled.
LIDAR, infrared, and night vision calibration. Many luxury vehicles are equipped with these sensors to detect obstacles beyond the headlights at night and in bad weather. Our technicians realign the beams, verify sensors are aligned with the road horizon, and check the accuracy of thermal and night vision imaging.
Driver monitoring system calibration. Our team can check the condition and alignment of your in-cabin driver monitoring cameras and sensors. We can also repair, calibrate, and test sensors that track driver attention, head position, and eye movement.
Our team has been in the auto repair business since 1974. We opened our first location in Los Angeles at the corner of Olympic Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, when car bodies were still made of steel.
Over the years, we’ve watched vehicles modernize, become more complex, and gain more safety features. We’ve seen the rise of modern Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), from their simplest implementations like reverse cameras to modern tools like lane-keeping assists and blind spot monitoring.
Our I-CAR Platinum and ASE-certified technicians receive continuous ADAS calibration training from the world’s top manufacturers, allowing us to service vehicles with the latest safety systems.
In 2014, Harry’s Auto Collision expanded to a second location. In addition to our original Los Angeles auto body shop, you can also find us at our Thousand Oaks repair center, located within the iconic Auto Mall. Harry’s Auto Collision is a trusted and manufacturer-certified auto body repair shop offering complete ADAS calibration services at both locations.
We are proud to offer our ADAS system calibrations to owners of vehicles from over 10 world-class manufacturers, including Aston Martin, Bentley, Lucid, McLaren, Rivian, Rolls-Royce, and Tesla.
Harry’s Auto Collision follows a strict Advanced Driver-Assistance System calibration procedure for all makes and models. Our ADAS calibration technicians have the training and experience to meet each manufacturer’s rigorous requirements.
Whether you need simple routine maintenance or a post-collision sensor calibration, here’s how our ADAS calibration process works:
Harry’s Auto Collision is a full-service auto body shop and ADAS calibration center. We have the equipment, training, and OEM certifications to perform all ADAS sensor calibrations, including:
How much does an ADAS calibration cost?
The average cost of an ADAS calibration depends on the make, model, and type of sensor. On average, a full calibration service costs $300 to $600. Note that calibration costs can be included in a full collision repair service if they’re required for safety.
What happens if I get repairs without ADAS calibration?
If you receive auto body repairs without ADAS calibrations when needed, your vehicle’s safety systems may not work correctly or fail. Malfunctioning ADAS systems can increase the risk of crashes or false alarms.
What’s the difference between static and dynamic calibration?
Static calibration can be done at the auto body shop, whereas dynamic calibration must be done on the road in controlled conditions.
How long do ADAS calibrations take?
It varies by make, model, and calibration type. On average, a complete ADAS service with static and dynamic calibration takes 1 to 3 hours.
Will my car tell me if it needs recalibrations?
It depends on the make and model. Some, such as Lexus vehicles equipped with the Lexus Safety System+ may send a “camera misaligned” or “safety system malfunction” notification on the dashboard. Others may not send notifications and only record incidents internally, requiring our technicians to run diagnostics.
